Course Duration

Total Course Duration: 30 hours (4 days) Each day consists of 7.5 hours of instruction, including lectures, group work, practical activities and tea breaks.

Learning Outcome

By completing this course, participants will be able to:

Confidently engage in carbon accounting and be able to deliver a carbon management consultancy in relevant sectors – retail, construction, transport, operational activities, and calculate own emissions. In addition, they will be able to recommend and calculate emission savings from various interventions.
  2. Understand the consulting industry by gaining insights into the structure of carbon management consulting, its unique pace, and technical dynamics.
  3. Understand the real-world application of project management skills, including project planning, multitasking, and how to use supporting tools in setting objectives and meeting targets.
  4. Understand the importance of customer (client) relationships and stakeholder management by building strong communication and emotional intelligence in stakeholder management.
  5. Master techniques of reporting and presentations by creating clear, data-driven reports and delivering effective presentations.
  6. Apply problem-solving skills by applying analytics, systems thinking, and consulting principles in solving business problems.

Understand and define organisational boundaries for effective carbon accounting using the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

Methods of Delivery

Practitioner’s Guide to Carbon Accounting and Consultancy is designed to accommodate various learning preferences through any of the following:

i. For organisations, we provide in-person workshops either in our own space or the organisation’s own space, through face-to-face workshops, group discussions, and activities to foster deeper understanding

ii. For regular participants, we offer virtual sessions (remote workshops) which have global outreach. During the workshops, participants will engage in case analysis, group exercises, and undertake real-world scenario activities.

Certification: Upon successful completion, participants will receive: Certificate in “Carbon Accounting and Consultancy” issued directly by our accredited body - the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA). IEMA is the global professional body for anyone working in environmental and sustainability. Participants can claim CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Points, contributing to their ongoing professional education.

Assessment

There is no test of memory examination for this course, but participants will be assessed based on the final Carbon Accounting Case Study: Calculating their domestic carbon. In addition to this, participants are highly encouraged to engage with other case studies based on real-world sustainability challenges.
The second level of assessment would be based on 100% attendance and Participation, discussions and group activities during the training.

The course fee is structured as follows:

  • Standard Fee: £ TBC (+/-VAT) (includes access to all course materials, assessments, and certification.
  • Group Discounts: Available for corporate groups of 10 or more participants.

Refund Policy

Adahx operate a fair refund policy for our participants. In an unlikely situation that any of the registered participants are qualified for full refund but this must be communicated before or after the first 1 hour of the course.
